But at least part of the change in schedule is that we're late in the gen, and Nintendo doesn't want to announce that they're keeping Switch as the main hardware platform for 2+ years anymore, like they did earlier in the gen. Or they've got a bunch of games that they don't want to date until they're 100% sure they'll release on time, in order to avoid pulling a Prime 4. Nintendo might also just be changing up their marketing formula. That doesn't mean I think the Switch 2 is coming in 2023. and we're getting to the point where a year+ into the future is past what even some of the pessimists think of as the time for the next console. I don't know when the successor is coming, but Nintendo has pretty much always had at least one game dated a year+ into the future.
