![]() If you work with me, you will do lots of writing, adhering to Associated Press style rules. You will always know why changes are necessary. Like the rest of society, computers have transformed newspapers, yet for all of their blessings, they have a downside: editors now tend to rewrite in secret, and aspiring writers are the poorer for it. I've held nearly every writing position, from cub reporter (immediately after college) to managing editor. Now retired, I would like to kindle the passions of other young writers by passing along the knowledge I've gained over the years, both in classrooms and bustling newsrooms. A recipient of state, national and international writing awards, I was employed as a newspaper editor for many years, helping to mold dozens of young reporters into respected members of the Fourth Estate.
